Has The Toronto Bubble Finally, Popped?
Every December, Pantone releases its colour of the year, which quickly makes its foray into the design world. For 2016, the colour authority kicked it up a notch and announced not one, but two hues! Check out Pantone’s 2016 Colours of the Year:
The colours, called Rose Quartz and Serenity, are shades of soft pink and baby blue that are said to bring about feelings of warmth and tranquility. Ready to embrace all things pastel? Here are 6 home decor products inspired by the colours that will make your living space especially stylish and comforting this year.
1. KitchenAid’s Stand Mixer in Guava Glaze
KitchenAid hasn’t wasted any time drawing inspiration from Pantone’s soft shades. The major home appliance brand just revealed the addition of a new stand mixer in “Guava Glaze”, a warm pink tone based on Pantone’s Rose Quartz. Stay tuned: it’ll be available in July 2016. http://prn.to/1NYjpaf
2. West Elm’s Wool Rug in Macaroon Pink
A pastel-hued rug is a super simple way to add a dash of brightness and texture to your home. This hand-tufted design is understated enough that it can be paired with other colourful accents for a fashionable look that’s not too showy. http://bit.ly/1UiljI1
3. Pottery Barn’s Ceramic Lamp in Porcela in Blue
With an elegant silhouette and a baby blue hue, this ceramic lamp is the perfect whimsical addition for a bedroom, especially one with a neutral palette. The reason? It’s a simple fixture that will instantly give a space more style and character. http://bit.ly/21Y3Rh2
4. Serena and Lily’s Moroccan Leather Pouf in Pink
How fun is this handmade leather pouf?! While it may be better suited for a teen’s bedroom, the playful piece will also add a pop of colour to a living room. Not to mention, poufs are ideal for small spaces that lack extra seating options. http://bit.ly/1M9EKMq
5. IKEA’s Leifarne Chair in Light Blue
Too often do dining chairs fade into the background of a room, when they can instead be statement pieces. Take this pastel blue IKEA chair, for example. Paired with a white or wooden table, the colourful seating will cheer up a space in no time. http://bit.ly/1UirEDn
6. Atelier Make’s Floral Dessert Plate in Pink
Update your kitchen with beautiful pottery that doubles as artwork, such as this delicate floral-patterned dessert plate. There’s a good chance the platter will impress guests just as much (okay, almost as much) as the dessert itself.
