Has The Toronto Bubble Finally, Popped?
It’s getting nippy out there! Soon, we’ll be graced with snow-covered everything. So while that’s happening outside, take control over what’s going on inside. That is, introduce five simple ways to add warmth to your home instead. Here are five ways to do it right:
1. Introduce Greenery
When the weather chills, our exposure to anything green or leafy is essentially nil. Combat the winter blues with a few resilient and colourful houseplants like orchids and succulents. Your home will liven up in no time!
2. Bright Colours
Forget the idea that bold hues should be reserved for warm weather. Adding pops of colour to your home, through anything from toss cushions to dining chairs, is one of the easiest ways add warmth to your space.
3. Think Texture
Whether you’re bundled up outside or are sipping on a steaming drink inside, the end of autumn is a time when we constantly crave comfort. The decor equivalent? A whole lot of texture! Beat the cold with warm elements like cozy knit throws or a sheepskin rug.
4. Natural Materials
Get inspired by cottage style and introduce rustic elements into your home. If your living space is small, scope out subtler pieces like wicker baskets or a small wooden side table (even better if you can find it vintage!).
5. Let Light In
Unfortunately there’s not much to be done about the amount of outdoor light we’re exposed to during winter. What we can do? Let the light shine indoors! If your space is starting to feel a bit dark and dreary, consider investing in another floor lamp… and light candles constantly.
Hope you enjoyed these five simple ways to add warmth to your home!
